Lakeridge Health Foundation’s ‘Our Cancer’ campaign to have donations matched until New Year’s Eve

The Lakeridge Health Foundation has five per cent to go before it reaches the goal for its ‘Our Cancer’ campaign, and two local families are looking to match your donation.

Volunteers have been looking to raise $20-million to support cancer care efforts across Durham Region and its hospitals.

Until December 31, the families of Beth Kelly and Paul Mackie Sr. will be matching donations, up to $500,000.

“We want to push it over,” said Mackie in an interview. “We want to get beyond that because there is never a day [that] goes by where there isn’t another need for equipment or facilities.”

“The more anybody can help, the better,” he added.
