Palace Anglepoise Type 75 Lamp

The Best New Furniture and Homewares of 2023

The skateboarding brand Palace is probably not the first name that comes to mind when you think of timeless home decor, but that could change now that the company has collaborated with Anglepoise, maker of arguably the most iconic desk lamp in history. The unexpected team-up has produced the Palace Anglepoise Type 75 Desk Lamp White/Glow in the Dark. This version of the iconic Anglepoise Type 75 is finished in a matte white paint that glows in the dark.

Luna CoolLuxe Orthopedic Knee Pillow

A knee pillow can make a big difference to your sleeping habits, alleviating pain and fixing your alignment, but adding anything to your bed can be a burden to hot sleepers. That’s why Luna made the CoolLuxe Orthopedic Knee Pillow. It features a cool-to-the touch cover that will keep you from overheating while also giving you the ergonomic benefits of a knee pillow.

Teenage Engineering Field Desk

We’re used to seeing Teenage Engineering’s innovative and unique designs in the electronics world, like their computers and synthesizers, and now the brand has finally created a worthy home for their stylish equipment. The Field Desk is a modular industrial design that brings a serious level of quality to your workspace. The desk consists of a space truss made from a series of interconnected rails made from recycled aluminum. These “field rails” allow you to attach modular add-ons, either Teenage Engineering’s or your own designs, simply using M5 screws. The desktop is a piece of birch plywood that’s formica-laminated on both sides, and the whole thing ships flat-packed ready to be assembled.

Floyd The Sink Down Sectional

Floyd doesn’t realease a new piece of furniture very often, but when it does, it’s exciting stuff. The Sink Down Sectional is Floyd’s take on a Cloud Sofa-style design, featuring a low seat and big fluffy cushions — plus the brand’s trademark modularity.

Pretty much anytime Herman Miller comes out with a new office chair, it’s big news. The chair has HM’s PostureFit tech for great ergonomics and comes in various fun colors.

Gantri x Craighill Flux Table Light

Gantri x Craighill

Two of our favorite design brands, Gantri and Craighill, have joined forces to create the latter’s first-ever lamp. Craighill founder Hunter Craighill based the idea of the Flux Table Light on a melting candle he was using to read during a recent power outage. Like all Gantri lamps, the lamp is 3D-printed from plant-based materials and comes with a museum-grade dimmable LED bulb.

A few years after debuting in the European market to surprising acclaim, H&M Home has made its US debut. The fast-fashion brand makes shockingly stylish and nice home goods, offering everything from decor and tableware to bedding and towels. DTC furniture favorite Burrow started with a sofa just a few years ago, and now the brand is offering wares for every room in your home. Burrow’s first dining collection is headlined by the Serif Expandable Dining Table, a mid-century modern stunner with a removable inner leaf, a scratch- and stain-resistant top and a hardwood frame. It’s accompanied by two attractive chair options in the minimalist Haiku and plush Alto. The chairs start at $499 a pair, while the table retails for $1,199.

Les Mondes de Diptyque

les mondes de diptyque

Diptyque’s candles are the best in the business (so are its room sprays, FYI), with the only drawback to them being that they don’t last forever. Well, the brand solved that conundrum in a way with its first-ever refillable candles. The Les Mondes de Diptyque line consists of five luxe scents, and once you burn away your initial candle, you can purchase a new scent as a refill candle to take its place in your glass vessel.

Hay Apex Desk Lamp

Hay’s 2023 fall collection was full of bangers. The Chisel Lounge Chair looked pretty great, as did the Arcs Trolley. But John Tree’s Apex lamp collection earned the title of the collection’s star attraction. Inspired by classic green banker’s lamps, the new collection put a modern twist on the traditional design.

But now, you can get a Florence Knoll-designed sofa for a comparative bargain, as Knoll has re-released Florence’s stylish Model 33 Sofa from 1954 (and Model 31 Lounge Chair) with a starting price of around a third of that of its stablemate.
